In 2017, we approached Grand River Hospital administration with the idea of funding an update to one of their frequently used visitor lounges within their pediatric care wing. In early 2018 we received a preliminary approval to proceed with the project. The idea of the project is to modernize and re-design this visitor lounge to provide a more useable and comfortable space for any families who have their child admitted to the hospital. This will make the visitor lounge more like a family room and hopefully provide some familiar comforts while these children are away from their homes.

Preliminary designs have the room including modern updates such as tablets,  flatscreen television, and a fireplace to bring a more homey atmosphere to the room. We want to provide an appealing environment that is welcoming, inclusive and stress-free for all.
